Episode 1 Game: Kings Cup

With our first episode dropping shortly, we wanted to go ahead and give you the name of the game and the rules to it so that you can play along. The game is kings cup, a.k.a. Ring of Fire, a.k.a. Circle of Death, a.k.a. Kings. With its origin dating back to the 50's and possibly even further, Kings Cup is pretty straightforward, just get some friends, a deck of cards, some drinks, and a shot glass. Put the shot glass in the middle of the table, spread the cards (except the jokers) face down in a circle around the shot glass, and give everyone a drink. Once everything is set up, moving clockwise, a player draws a card and follows the corresponding instructions for that card. If anyone breaks the circle of cards, then they have to take the shot in the middle and they’re out. Redistribute the cards to fully circle the shot glass again and continue play. If there are not enough cards to maintain the circle and more than one player remains, then the winner is decided based on the next competition-type card (meaning a five, seven, nine, ten, jack, or queen) that’s flipped.
Be sure to check out episode one for a live demonstration of how the game is played along with some buzzed fun, and check out the picture below for each card’s instructions.
